From my Commissioner's note:
The two lovers are "standing on the ramparts and watching the approach of an army who will
lay siege to the city they are in. Around them it is general chaos as
people are preparing for battle. As a knight (he doesn't wear full plate
armor but chain mail) he will be involved in the fight. This has her
naturally worried, and he is offering some reassurance. And at the same
time they don't know when or if they will see each other again so it's a
difficult moment. "
